Le Pere Jules Poire is a perry produced by the firm of Leon Desfrieches et fils located in Lisieux in the Normandy region of France that was founded 95 years ago. Three varieties of pears taken from orchards planted more than 100 years ago are used in this perry. The Le Pere Jules brand produces cider, perry as well as Calvados. Reverend Nat’s Newtown Pippin Hard Cider – Happily Recommended

Reverend Nat out of Portland Oregon honors one of America’s most famous apples with this cider. It is a single varietal cider that the Newtown Pippin, which originated on Long Island sometime in the second half of the 18th century. Cider Review: Eric Bordelet Sparkling Poire Cider (Thrilling)

The Bordelet family’s biodynamic orchards are in southern Normandy. The orchards as well as the cider making is undertaken by former Paris sommelier Eric Bordelet. All tolled, the orchard is 37 acres, seven and a half of which bear apple and pear trees 50 years old. The estate holds 20 varieties of apples and 15 varieties of pear.
