On the Wine Radio with Kaz

I just got off the radio, doing my second stint as a guest on the "WineBiz 2.4" show on Sonoma Valley’s KSVY 91.3. WineBiz 2.4 is hosted by Kaz from Kaz Winery and serves up interesting and irreverent information about California’s and the world’s wine biz. It’s also a great example of the kind really useful and fun wine information you can find on local radio around the country.

In today’s world of pre-packaged radio and national talk radio, local, really local, radio gives listeners a sense of community and immediacy that national radio just can’t touch.   Here in Sonoma Valley we are lucky to have KSVY, a small but very local radio station that features a number of personalities from the Valley and discusses issues and topics from a Valley perspective.

Kaz runs a pretty interesting and fun ship at WineBiz 2.4. You never know what you are going to get. Updates on the Glassywinged Sharpshooter funding initiative, talk of wine blogs, news of wine trade talks, or info on what Kaz Winery just harvested. The best thing about local wine shows is that the host usually has a great sense of what the community wants.

In a future post I’ll point you to a number of wine radio shows, most of which you can check out live or via the Internet. For now, I wan to plug the efforts at Sonoma Valley’s KSVY 91.3
