It’s Official: Wine is Cool
Well, it’s official. Wine is officially cool.
Last night, as I was breezing through the various shows my trusty Tivo recorded for me, I came across the funniest, most intelligent show on television: The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. And guess what the second segment of the show was about? Yep. Wine. Specifically, how wine is becoming hip among the younger set and how wineries are marketing the product to the young.
Now, don’t get me wrong, it’s not as though The Daily Show looked into this issue thoroughly. If you know this program then you realize it was satire…extreme satire. Nevertheless…wine…on the Daily Show???
That makes wine officially cool!
I searched for a transcript of the show but could find nothing on the web. However, I did come up with this recap of the segment that will give you a flavor for how the trend of younger drinkers was treated.
And by the way, if you don’t have a Tivo…well…you don’t have television.
