Celebrity Wine News: Madonna Barbera

Madonnabarbera
I wonder how Carneros-based Madonna Estate will react to this news?

Celebrity Cellars has announced they’ll be distributing Madonna Wine. Yes, that "Madonna". What makes this wine special is that bottles will carry images created for the performers recent "Confession on a Dance Floor.

In case you are wondering, each bottle comes with a certificate of authenticity…a very nice touch, I admit. Prices range from $29 for the Barbera and Pinot Grigio to $40 for the Cabernet Sauvignon. I don’t know where the wine was made, but I suspect in Italy.

And yes, they will sell out very very fast.

You can keep it on your shelf next to your MARILYN MERLOT and your CABERNET FRANK.

Trophies come in all forms, and like moonshine, they’re for selling, not drinking. I recently waited on a customer who bought a case of Silver Oak, and then, referring to Schug Carneros Pinot Noir, asked: “where is Carneros, in Spain?”

I am not a wine drinker the last wine I drank was in the seventies and it was called Blue Nun. I know it was a date wine at that time! I loved it. I do know it has been back on the market. Does anyone know where I can find a retailer in San Luis Obispo, or anywhere on the Central Coast? I am in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles freequently, I am not having any luck on line.
Any help would be appreciated. This is the only wine I am interested at this time.
    thank you,
    Ellen.
