Which Wine Blogs Should I List?

It’s time to re-evaluate my blogroll of wine blogs. It has been a while.

And…I’d like some help.

Here’s what I want to know:

Is there a Wine Blog not on my blogroll over there on the right hand side that NEEDS to be there? Is there a wine blog you think NEEDS TO BE READ? Let me know what wine blog that is by posting a comment. I’ll evaluate it and get it up.

I don’t care if you own the blog you are recommending, a blog writing by a friend of yours, or just a blog you like and read and want others to know about. Just send me your recommendations on the best wine blogs out there that are not currently listed on my blogroll.

    Two blogs:
    http://huevosconvino.moderngarbage.org
    http://winesmith.blogspot.com/
Both are high quality from early 30’s bloggers that explore their burgeoning love for wine and its place in their lives.
Check out especially Huevos’ post on his worst winery experience, and Wineshiths posts on what DC politicians are drinking. Good stuff.

    Thanks for the mention, Josh!
Tom, I hope you’ll also consider adding Golly’s Wine Drops (http://www.gollywinedrops.blogspot.com/).
Golly often combines sports with wine and tasting notes, and at the moment, the blogger is bicycling in France, so we can expect a report on what it’s like to cycle in France’s wine country.

Well naturally I think my site is pretty good. I would not call it a blog exactly..just wine reviews.
Would also recommend http://www.tintoyblanco.com.au a Spanish wine review site based in Australia.
and… WinoSapien is usually a good read http://wino-sapien.blogspot.com/

    Tom,
Can I also recommend http://www.winorama.com.au/ a (? the most) prolific site for wine reviews.
    Ed

    Tom,
    Would like to recommend Chiefwino–
    http://www.chiefwino.com
Late 20s guy in DC that posts on interesting wines, food, travel. Guess hes a Certified Specialist of Wine and does some wine list consulting in DC.

Check out Virginia Wine Time…we visit Virginia wineries and write about our experiences with the wineries and wines.

Our posts of late have been slim because we’re in transition as we move to a new platform and I’m in the process of moving all my personal data to a new computer but http://winefoolery.net might be worth a look.

    Tom,
Check out The Classic Wine Guide News.
    http://www.classicwines.com/wine-news/
    Some interesting reading.

I recommend that blog’s that keep current be kept. Those that are pass 21 days (three Weeks)show that the “blogger”is not into it with his full dedication. You must draw some sort of requirments or you will have the problem of wasted time for you and the readers keeping current.

  11. Muray - August 13, 2006

I think ill put in a bit of self promotion and mention http://winetastic.blogsome.com ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Julian - August 14, 2006

It would be great to be considered, even. I try to keep the blog interesting beyond the Irish perspective, and there’s always wine somewhere in the scheme of things.

  13. Chad - August 14, 2006

My site, bottleroom.com, hasn’t been updated in a while. Until I get back on track, a link to it is just taking up space.

  14. Fredric Koeppel - August 14, 2006

winorama.com.au, which i just looked at for the first time, is great, real wine reviews for grown-ups, avoiding the amateurism of so many wine-blogs. i hope those guys will take a look at http://www.koeppelonwine.com/
where i keep a changing roster of 35 or 40 reviews going all the time.

  15. Robert - August 14, 2006

Not sure if you only mean US bloggers or not, but I don’t see a link to a couple of UK blogs that are regularly updated, fun, and useful wherever you happen to live/drink:
    The wine anorak
    http://www.wineanorak.com/blog/index.htm
    and Wine Journal
    http://www.wine-journal.com/
(I am not linked to them, only a reader)
    Rob

  17. Jathan - August 14, 2006

Just delete them all, no one clicks on them anyway…
    :o)
P.S. You still have my old link up there, perhaps that explains it….

Tom, can I propose to you and to your readers my wine blog (only in Italian language, sorry!) Vino al Vino http://www.vinoalvino.org ?

I agree with some of the earlier posters about some of the unlisted Australian wine blogs, Winorama, Wino-sapien & Winetastic.
http://wineamateur.blogspot.com/ is also worth a read and I guess while I’m posting, I may as well jump on the self promotion bandwagon – http://www.camwheeler.com/wine

I think I’m a little late, but I’d like to plug my blog at: http://www.saintegenevievewinery.blogpsot.com
If you can’t toot your own horn, who will?

  22. Tracy Ellen Kamens, Ed.D., CSW - August 15, 2006

I would like to respectfully submit my own blog for consideration. I primarily focus on educating people about wine, regions, etc., rather than reviewing particular wines I’ve drank.

  23. Billy Clinton - August 15, 2006

If you are looking for a little humor, the two wackos at http://www.winostuff.com write about some quirky stuff.

  24. Collin - August 16, 2006

I would like to submit my blog as well….

    Tom,
My blog will debut shortly after Labor Day as part of a larger site to be found at http://www.paulgregutt.com
My ten years of experience designing websites and other interactive media will finally spill over into my wine writing. My intention is to have the best, most thorough, up to the minute and objective website covering the wines of WA and OR of anyone in the world. It will be completely free and contain no advertising or sponsorship. I hope you will give it a look when it debuts next month.
    Cheers,
