I love reading the results of controlled studies, surveys and polls. I believe they mean something…when interpreted in just the right way. Take for example This New Study, in the American Journal of Public Health and Reported upon by the New York Times. It demonstrates that after making it legal to purchase alcohol on Sundays in New Mexico (yes, it had been illegal to do so…sigh……) fatal traffic accidents related to alcohol use increased on that day. I’ve always been more of a fan of Star Trek Next Generation than the first series. Jean Luc Picard just struck me as someone I’d much prefer to hang out with. My neck of the woods is generally a fairly quiet little place. Glen Ellen in Sonoma Valley is off of Highway 29, the major road tht runs down the center of Sonoma Valley. Despite the tourism that is year round, Glen Ellen tends to be a locals’ dominate village. That changes one weekend per year.
