Silicon Valley Bank, (SVB) one of the leading lenders to the wine industry, has released its "State of the Industry" report and is estimating that fine wine sales will increase this year by 8% to 12 percent. The alcohol wholesalers recent success in getting H.R. 5034 introduced in the House of Representatives is a straightforward effort to turn back the clock on a well-regulated, problem-free direct shipment of wine and to completely exclude all wine shipments across state lines by wineries and wine retailers.
